What Is Custom Design?

Before we start designing, you’ll complete an in-depth questionnaire to help us understand your goals, brand vision, and preferences. This sets the foundation for a site that feels completely aligned with you and your books.

We’ll build your website from the ground up on Squarespace 7.1. No templates, no shortcuts. Every layout and section is designed specifically for you, based on your needs and content.

Your package includes at least five fully custom-designed pages—like Home, About, Books, Extras, and Contact.
Need more? Additional pages are available as an add-on.

We’ll use custom CSS to take your site beyond the basics. That includes layout tweaks, visual polish, hover effects, scroll interactions, and more to making your site feel high-end and one-of-a-kind.

We’ll create unique graphics, banners, and layouts for each section of your site, so no two pages feel the same, and everything is crafted to reflect your brand and genre.

Your site will feature a fully branded look, with your font pairings and color palette applied across every page. We’ll also upload any custom fonts you want to use.

Every custom page is designed to look and function perfectly on mobile devices, not just desktop because we know most readers browse from their phones.

You’ll receive a full visual branding package alongside your site: a primary logo, submark, curated color palette, font pairings, and branded Canva graphics ready to use on your website and beyond.

To help with search engine visibility, we’ll add key SEO elements like page titles, meta descriptions, and image alt text, all optimized to reflect your content.

After we deliver your first draft, you’ll have two rounds of revisions to request changes or fine-tune the details, so the final version feels exactly right before you launch.

Have a question or need a quick clarification while we’re working together? You’ll have direct access to us via email throughout the project.

We’ll walk you through the final steps and make sure everything’s ready for a smooth, confident launch. We’re here if you need us after you go live.

You’ll receive a custom walkthrough showing you how to update your site such as adding new books, swapping out graphics, posting announcements, or editing shop links.
What’s Included?

Your package includes launch support and a personalized guide for future updates, but ongoing edits or maintenance after launch aren’t included unless booked as an add-on.

You’ll need to provide all written content for your site (like bios, blurbs, and book descriptions). We’ll format and place it beautifully, but we don’t write or edit content for you.

We’re happy to link out to your newsletter, BookFunnel, or shop, but setup and integration of external platforms (like Flodesk, MailerLite, Shopify, or automations) isn’t included.

This package doesn’t include complex features like full e-commerce setups, custom member areas, quizzes, or advanced third-party tools. If you need something specific, just ask—we may be able to add it on.

You’ll receive two rounds of revisions. Additional rounds can be added for an hourly fee. Custom illustrations aren’t included by default, but can be added to your package for an additional charge.
