MODULE EIGHT: LESSON ONE
Final Site Review & Pre-Publish Checklist
You’ve built your site, customized every page, and optimized it for mobile! you’re almost ready to launch! But before we hit that publish button, let’s do one final review to make sure everything is polished, functional, and ready for readers.
This lesson will walk you through the essential things to double-check so you can publish with confidence.
Note
Additionally, if you are wanting to check out the Bonus Module and try your hand at adding a custom font through CSS, head there now!
If you didn’t purchase any extras and don’t want to use any CSS, you’re right on track — let’s head to the finish line!
Final Site Review
Here’s what you should review on your site, page by page:
1. Remove Placeholder Text & Images
Did you replace all template text with your own?
Are there any “lorem ipsum” text blocks still lingering?
Are all placeholder images swapped for your own graphics, covers, or photos?
Tip: If you’re not ready to fill in a section, it’s better to delete it for now — you can always add it back later.
2. Confirm Navigation & Menus
Do all your navigation links work and point to the correct pages?
Are your menu titles clear and easy to understand?
Are there any unlinked pages you meant to add?
3. Test Buttons & Links
Check every button and link to ensure they lead where they’re supposed to, whether that’s your Amazon book links, bonus content, or social media.
Don’t forget your footer links!
4. Test Your Contact Form
Submit a test message through your contact form.
Make sure it delivers to the correct email address.
Customize your form’s confirmation message if you haven’t already.
5. Confirm Your Newsletter Sign-Up
If you have a newsletter form, make sure it’s connected to your email marketing platform.
Submit a test signup and confirm the subscriber lands in the right list or sequence.
Mobile & Device Check
Even if you’ve already done mobile optimization, give your site one more review on different devices:
Phone (Apple and Android if possible)
Tablet
Desktop
Click through every page to ensure the layout, text, and images display correctly across devices.
Optional: List What You’ll Add Later
If you have content that’s not quite ready — like bonus content or upcoming releases — make a quick list of what you’ll add later. This way, you can launch now and continue updating as you go.
