MODULE FIVE: LESSON FOUR

Styling & Maintaining Your Books Page

A well-styled, up-to-date Books page keeps your website looking professional and makes it easy for readers to browse and buy your books. This final lesson shows you how to adjust the look of your page to match your brand and how to maintain it as your catalog grows.

Maintaining Your Books Page

  • Adding New Releases: Duplicate a book section, update it with your new book’s details, and place it where you want it in your reading order or series group. THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT, BECAUSE IF THERE’S ONE WAY TO GET READERS TO LEAVE YOUR SITE, ITS TO HAVE ONE THAT VERY OBVIOUSLY IS NOT UPDATED WITH CURRENT RELEASES.

  • Removing Old Titles: If you need to remove a book, simply delete its section from the page.

  • Updating Links & Info: Regularly check retailer links, covers, and blurbs to ensure they’re current, especially if you’ve rebranded, released new editions, or updated covers.

Tips for a Professional Look

  • Keep covers the same size and aspect ratio for a uniform layout.

  • Limit the amount of text per book listing so your page doesn’t look cluttered.

  • Use headings or section dividers to organize series or separate different genres..

Action Steps

  1. Add new releases by duplicating and updating existing book sections.

  2. Remove or update outdated books, covers, blurbs, and links as needed.

  3. Do a final check to keep your Books page organized and polished.
