MODULE FOUR: LESSON TWO

Customizing Your Contact Page

Your Contact page is a small but important part of your website. It’s where readers, bloggers, event organizers, or industry professionals can reach out to you whether it’s to send a quick hello, ask about review opportunities, or inquire about appearances.

In this lesson, I’ll show you how to customize the Contact form that came with your template so it’s connected to your email and easy for visitors to use.

Step 1: Connect Your Form to the Right Email

  • Open your Contact page and click into the form block.

  • Under the storage settings, choose the email address where you want form submissions to be delivered.

  • Double-check that this is an inbox you check regularly.

Step 2: Personalize Your Intro Text

  • Replace the placeholder text with a short, welcoming note.

  • Let readers know what they can contact you about — for example: interviews, collaborations, event inquiries, or just to say hello.

  • Keep it warm and approachable.

Step 3: Review Your Form Fields

  • Keep the form simple: Name, Email, and Message are usually enough.

  • If your template includes extra fields you don’t need, delete them.

  • If you want to collect specific details (like review requests), you can add an extra field — but keep it minimal so it’s easy to use.

Step 4: Add Optional Extras

  • Social Media Links: Include buttons or icons so readers can connect with you elsewhere.

  • Newsletter Signup: If you’re actively building your list, add a signup form or a reminder to subscribe.

  • Alternative Contact Info: If you prefer, you can also include a direct email address beneath the form.

Step 5: Test Your Form

  • Submit a test message through the form yourself.

  • Confirm that it arrives in your inbox.

  • If you’re using an email marketing platform, make sure integrations are working correctly.

Quick Tip: Keep the form simple (name, email, and message fields are usually plenty). The easier it is to fill out, the more likely readers are to use it.

Action Steps

  • Decide which email you want contact form submissions sent to.

  • Personalize the intro text on your Contact page.

  • Update or simplify the form fields if needed.

  • Add social media links or newsletter sign-up if you’d like.

Once your Contact page is good to go, you’re ready for the fun part — Lesson Three: Creating Your Extras Page.
